PX Star rating provides communities — patrons, vendors, employees and stakeholders — with
a straightforward ranking of their risk of exposure to biocontaminated surfaces.


5 Stars: Excellent – 25 PXs or lower, with no sample site test results > 100 PXs – Considered the lowest of biocontamination risk, achieving the highest level of bio-decontamination, meeting or exceeding the Hospital Standard for Patient Rooms/NICU of 25 PXs.

4 Stars: Great – 26 to 50 PXs, with no sample site test results > 100 PXs – Considered a safe level of biocontamination risk, achieving an exceptional level of bio-decontamination, meeting or exceeding the Hospital Standard for General Areas of 50 PXs

3 Stars: Average – 51 to 100 PXs, with not more than 1 sample site test results > 100 PXs – Considered an acceptable level of biocontamination risk, having an acceptable level diode contamination, meeting or exceeding the Hospital Standard for Contamination of 100 PXs

2 Stars: Poor – 101 to 200 PXs – Considered an unacceptable level of biocontamination risk, having an unacceptable level of biocontamination, failing to meet the Hospital Standard for Contamination of 100 PXs

1 Star: Bad – 201 PXs or higher – Considered the highest level of biocontamination risk, achieving the lowest level of biocontamination, exceeding 2 times the Hospital Standard for Contamination of 100 PXs
